Hello Biggest Losers,

HAPPY WEEK TWO! I hope your Labor Day is going well! I hope that everyone was able to maintain small and healthy portions throughout the weekend. If not, don’t be hard on yourself! This is the end of the first week of our 60-Day Biggest Loser Challenge. I have prepared for you a sample 7-Day Weight Loss Meal Plan to encourage you by providing examples of HOW and WHAT you should practice eating. If you remember on our conference call, we discussed the importance of eating a protein plus a fruit or vegetable, every 2 to 3 hours. This helps to speed up your metabolism and burn calories, even while you sleep! The chart is just a sample to get you started. Remember to have fun! Until next week…

Happy Health!

November 7, 2015
There were 2 winners in our BIGGEST LOSER 60-DAY CHALLENGE.  That’s right, we have a tie.  Margurite Kimble (Louisiana) and Nickoria Johnson (Texas) each had a total weight loss of 12 lbs.  WOW!!!  Congratulations ladies!
I interviewed Margurite and Nickoria and below are some of their comments regarding the challenge.
Question: How does it feel to be the biggest loser?
Answer:     Margurite – It feels wonderful!
Answer:     Nickoria – Humbling, I didn’t think I was going to win.

Question: What tips did you use to lose the weight?
Answer:     Margurite – I cut back on foods that I normally eat, like ice cream and fried chicken.  I also used the vinegar and water that Monica suggested.
Answer:     Nickoria – I stopped eating late at night, I started eating a vegetarian diet during the week, and I rewarded myself with eating what I wanted for 24 hrs, when I did a good job.  My husband also joined me in the challenge (unofficially), which helped.  If you plan to do something like this as a couple, be sure to focus on praying together.

Question: Did you have any challenges during the 60 days?
Answer:     Margurite – No, It wasn’t hard for me, because my doctor
had already told me to lose weight before my next appointment.
Answer:     Nickoria – Avoiding cheese, diary and meat were hard during the week.

Question: Are you planning to continue eating healthy?
Answer:     Margurite – Yes, I plan to continue eating healthy.
Answer:     Nickoria – Yes, however, I am switching to lean protein (chicken and fish) and vegetables instead of carbs.  I would also like to add that not eating any food in order to lose weight is not sustainable to your body.  You must eat a healthy diet.  Balance is the key.  Note:  Nickoria was referring to a time in her life when she was a model and she wore a size 3.
Lastly, I would like to thank those of you who participated in the BIGGEST LOSER 60-Day Challenge.  Some of you donated money, while others fully participated in the challenge. The weight loss totals for participants ranged from 2 lbs to 12 lbs.  I would also like to thank Monica Pierre for facilitating this event.  She blessed us by providing helpful tips, suggestions and prayers in our efforts to eat healthier and to lose weight.
God bless,
Karen D. Stewart
